Frequently asked questions

What is the CSC scholarship?

It is the Chinese government scholarship: depending on whether it is full or partial, it can cover tuition, accommodation, a monthly allowance and health insurance. It is highly competitive and never guaranteed; conditions vary by institution and programme.

What grades do I need for a scholarship?

An average of at least 12/20 in each subject is preferable, and scholarship opportunities exist from an overall average of 15/20, depending on eligibility criteria. Even with a strong record, a scholarship is not guaranteed: we help you target realistic universities.

Do I need to speak Chinese?

Not necessarily: several programmes are taught in English (IELTS or TOEFL), especially at master's and PhD level. Chinese-taught programmes require the HSK, and learning the basics makes daily life much easier.
