Our guides to studying in Malaysia
See all guidesFrequently asked questions
Is the degree from a British or Australian campus the same?
Generally yes: the degree is identical to the one from the main campus, and transfer programmes sometimes let you finish your studies in the UK or Australia. We help you choose between an international campus and a Malaysian university.
What budget should I plan?
Tuition ranges from a few thousand to $15,000 per year depending on the institution and subject, with international campuses the most expensive. Allow generally $500 to $800 per month for living costs, housing included.
Can I work while studying?
Work is tightly regulated: it is generally limited to semester breaks, certain sectors and a set number of hours. Do not count on a job to fund your studies.
